Abstract

 

Based on a research study conducted in Singapore with five leaders, this paper highlights the potential of restorative justice in strengthening the corporate governance framework in commercial organisations.  The study revealed leaders adopting certain strategies in ensuring conformance with external regulations and internal corporate governance framework.  The strategies incorporated as part of leadership prevented employees from breaking the rules and created an environment of conformance.   The leadership were aligned with the principles of restorative justice.  This paper presents information that were part of a thesis and seek to validate the expansion of the concept, restorative justice, to commercial organisations in the area of leadership and corporate governance.
